Our Curriculum

At Greenfield Academy, we have high expectations for every child. We encourage them to dream ambitiously about their future and support them to secure successful, aspirational destinations. We want all children to feel happy, valued and confident, and to act with integrity, kindness and respect.

Our values: Proud, Ambitious, Kind – together with our ethos of ‘Every Child, Every Opportunity, Every Day’, shape the culture of Greenfield. They guide how we learn, how we behave and how we treat one another. We want our children to be confident, aspirational and respectful, and to feel that they belong to a community that believes in them, champions them, and supports them to become the very best version of themselves.

Our Curriculum Intent

Our curriculum is designed to build the essential knowledge and skills children need to succeed both in school and in life beyond Greenfield. It is ambitious, inclusive and carefully crafted to prepare children for their next steps.

Our children follow a broad curriculum that includes core academic, practical and creative subjects. This is enriched by our Personal Development curriculum and a range of wider opportunities that support children’s personal growth, character and aspirations.

Our curriculum:

  • is appropriate and relevant to our children
  • raises aspirations and promotes ambition
  • builds independence and resilience
  • is progressive, interleaved and sequenced to secure deep, long-lasting learning
  • strengthens literacy and numeracy across subjects
  • nurtures passions, interests and creativity
  • supports children’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural development
  • develops cultural capital
  • promotes physical development, health and wellbeing
  • encourages respect for all, regardless of sex, race, religion, ability, disability, sexual orientation, socio-economic background or age
  • reflects our ethos and values, including the fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance
