Personal Development at Greenfield

At Greenfield Academy we offer a comprehensive and coherent Personal Development programme within and outside the classroom, helping our students to become confident, resilient and independent learners.

Personal Development encompasses a range of aspects including SMSC, British Values, Equality and Diversity, Student Leadership, Community Cohesion and Enrichment.

Our tutor time programme supports students on a daily basis with high quality pastoral input, whilst PSHE lessons allow further development and investigation of key areas, including Relationships and Sex Education.

The Careers Curriculum uses the GATSBY benchmarks to prepare students for future success in education, employment or training.

Where students need more intensive support, our Progress and Guidance team or our School Counsellors are available, and we also work with external support services such as Piece of Mind.

We work closely with external partners such as Humankind, Durham Police, Durham Fire and Rescue and support local and national charities with fundraising and awareness.
